No more deactivation or reactivation

By placing the SERMME System next to your circulation desk the "by-pass method" of circulating books and other stock becomes possible. (see below)

  • Loan materials go around the security system.
  • Borrowers go through the security system. Any tagged goods concealed on the borrower will trigger the alarm.
  • Goods are returned before the borrower enters the library. Each item that is returned is already protected and needs only to be logged in and then placed on the shelves ready for the next borrower.

Deactivation

Material frequently carried through the sensor posts can be temporarily neutralised with the application of a special "deactivation label". These are easily removed when the items need to be reactivated. These labels can also be used where a by-pass method is not practical.

Magnetic information storage items

Your CDs, cassettes, videos and other forms of magnetic information storage can be protected in the same way. As the SERMME system works with radio waves there is absolutely no risk of damage to these items. A special range of labels and storage cases are available for this purpose.

Radio technology

The use of radio technology also ensures that the SERMME System will not interfere with your computer system.

An important feature of this technology is that there are no known health hazards. It is friendly to electronic health aids and use of the by-pass method eliminates repetitive arm movements.

Stock control & other technology

Adhesive labels can be printed with your logo and bar codes, integrating both stock control and security. A self-check system is now available. Patrons check out loan items on their own, freeing your staff to concentrate on other aspects of library management.
